Month of February is really special in the matters of the heart. It is a month to celebrate love in your heart and to celebrate the love you have for your own heart. In order to give your heart away, it should be worthy ! No one hands over a rotten ‘anything’ to someone they love. So bigger question is how worthy is your heart?

Heart health has always been tied to Fitness along with diet. In an oxford study from 2013 to 2015, about 211 participants wore devices to record their physical activity. This group was then followed up after 5 years for cardiovascular disease. Those who were most active among the participants were found to have a reduction in cardiovascular disease risk between 45 to 57 percent.

Here is a checklist for daily heart health.

Every Day:

  1. 20 -30 min of moderate cardio.
  2. Good Rest and sleep.
  3. Most of the diet should be unprocessed and natural.
  4. Breathing and Meditation for 5 -10 min a day.

Every Month:

  1. Monitor the resting heart rate and record the results.
  2. Use a pulse oximeter to check your oxygen levels and record the results.
  3. Make time for rest and break from stress.

Every Year:

  1. Get your Cholesterol and Blood pressure checked.
  2. Take a Vacation.
  3. Verify if and how your heart rate has changed over the year.

Taking care of yourself and your heart is giving your loved ones the best of you, instead of what’s left of you.
